Our story
Jumping Goat Farm is a little Dunedin-local enterprise on a lifestyle block near Mosgiel. We keep a small flock — and we like it that way.
Our hens spend their days out on the grass: scratching, foraging, dust-bathing and doing what hens do best. No crowded sheds, no shortcuts. Just a handful of birds with room to roam and the kind of life that shows up in every yolk. We reckon happy birds make happy eggs — and we think you'll taste the difference.
The eggs
Honest eggs from birds that actually live outside. The golden colour in our yolks comes from real foraging and good feed — never marigold or added colourants.
Our birds roam open Otago grass every day, foraging the way nature intended.
No additives for colour. What you see in the yolk is the real deal.
Low stress, lots of space, and a flock that's genuinely content.

And yes — goats
There are, of course, goats. Our four-legged groundskeepers keep the grass and scrub in check — natural, ever-hungry lawnmowers that earn their keep and add a healthy dose of mischief to the place.
Between the goats grazing it down and the hens scratching it over, the pasture stays in good heart the old-fashioned way.
